Innsbruck Surroundings is a mountain region in western Austria, with cold snowy winters and mild summers (peaking at 20°C/68°F in July and dropping to -2°C/28°F in January). It's famous for the Bergisel Ski Jump, a landmark from the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics, and the Nordkette mountain range accessible by funicular from the city center. In winter you can ski on over 300 km of slopes at resorts like Axamer Lizum, and in summer you can hike to the Alpenhütten (mountain huts) for panoramic views of the Inn Valley.
